IRSSTIMULUS

IRSstimulus is an economic aid from the government to boost the american economy. The stimulus payment will affect over 130 million households mostly from the low income group. The stimulus checks are supposed to stimulate the economy which is affected by the bad mortgage and real estate situation. The government is hoping that the tax rebates will make people use more money and affect the market demand positively. Hopefully the citizens will use the extra income from the IRSstimulus to buy American products in order to boost the internal economy as much as possible.

The problem is according to many experts that the money will not be used. The IRS is hoping to boost the general consumption in the society, but many people are in so bad a situation that the stimulus bill will only be used to cover expenses and loans. The extensive recession will force people to either put the money in the bank for future safety or use it right away to cover the sky rocketing fuel prices. Many are also experiencing growing credit card debts that need to be covered. Last but not least the serious mortgage crisis will also prevent people from using the stimulus refund on Flat screen TVs, jewellery, laptops or cars.

Who are eligible to receive the IRSstimulus?

Actually most people are! The only requirements are that you have a valid social security number and that you file a tax return. You should also have a qualifying income of 3000$ including social security, railroad retirement and veterans affairs. The form itself is very easy to file in. It is only the most basic information, and it is not more than about 7 fields that need to be filled. But you really need to file the tax return otherwise you will not receive your IRSstimulus payment.

IRSstimulus Schedule

The stimulus payments will be made from May-July 2008, but if you did not qualify this year you can still make it in 2009 you just need to send in your 2008 tax return instead.

How much is the IRSstimulus check?

Most people will be eligible to receive between 300$ and 600$ making a total of maximum 1200$ for a normal household. You will also be eligible for an extra 300$ for every child of yours. The child just needs to have a valid social security number. The wealthiest persons will get less, even nothing in some cases. Leaving the largest sums of money to the low income groups. You can choose the direct deposit option when you file your tax return, that way the stimulus rebate automatically will go in to your bank account.

If you are not familiar with filing the tax return form you can always get help from the people at the IRS office. They will help you with all your questions free of charge. Rental income is not counted as qualifying income and will therefore not be taken into account when calculating your IRSstimulus.
