Can a creditor garnish my IRS Stimulus check?
Ford Motor company, unfortunately is garnishing 10% of my wages every paycheck due to over mileage on a lease. Totall sucks. Are they able to garnish my IRS stimulus check? I'm getting worried because my last 2 are *40 and I haven't received it yet…
any help?

You should have known better than to lease a car. Stupidest idea ever.
You would have saved a boat load of money and then some to just out right buy a car.
I'll NEVER EVER lease-learned my lesson by watching to many friends end up in your same position.
Besides, I don't need a brand new car that badly each year.
Why rent a car for two years when you could have just out right bought the dam thing to begin with?

hi! dont worry we are 41 and not recieving ours til friday the 9th according to the hotline and website. i dont think they can just garnish it unless they have a judgement against you.

If they take it to court and have a judgement put against you, then they can report it to the FMS and yes they could offset your rebate for that purpose. Call this number to learn of any offsets against you. 1-800-304-3107.

No they don't have access to your stimulus check.
