Can I Still Get The Government Stimulus Check?

My husband and I just filed our Federal income taxes for 2007. Can we still get the government stimulus check? Any idea how long it will take to receive it, assuming we still can? Any idea how much it will be for? I thought it was 0 for each person, or ,200 per couple. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

The deadline for filing for the economic stimulus check is October 15th.
In order to get a rebate, you must have a valid Social Security number and file a tax return. You are eligible if you received $3,000 from any one, or combination, of these four sources:

    1. Earned income
    2. Social Security benefits
    3. Veterans’ disability compensation, pension or survivors’ benefits
    4. Certain railroad retirement benefits.

Amount depends on several things. You can still apply- but hurry time is almost up.

As long as you file by Oct 15th, you will get the check; so you are all set. You are correct on the amount, but it phases out for high-income individuals, and they will reduce it by any outstanding federal obligations that you have. I don’t know how long it will take to receive it.

You can still file until 10/15/2008. I am not sure how long it will take, allow at least 6 to 8 weeks. The refund is $1,200 per couple depending upon your income and tax liability.
