Can you take your stimulus rebate off your 2009 taxes again? How do I get a copy of my stimulus letter?

My accountant told my parents this evening that if you have your stimulus rebate letter for your 2008 stimulus check, you can again take it off your 2009 taxes. Is this true? He says you must have your letter though and I do not have mine. If it is true, how can I get a copy of my letter to get this taken off?

The message has gotten tangled along the way. The preparer needs to know the amount of the stimulus check you received to prepare the 2008 tax return but you don't get more stimulus money unless you didn't get the full amount last year and your income or other status has changed.

If you need to know the amount you received, call 1-800-234-2942 and follow the prompts.
