How do I qualify for the economic stimulus rebate?

I'm talking about the one that GW Bush supposedly just signed or something? Honestly not too sure about the details, but I made a little over ,000 in 2007, and I was doing my taxes using the Turbotax website and the economic stimulus rebate never came up on the software.

You qualify for the rebate by having enough earned income and by filing your 2007 Federal Income Taxes. The rebate will come separately. You need do nothing more.

You would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $600 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $350 in taxes (less than the $600 rebate limit), you only get back $350. Since you had earned income of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $300. Similarly, couples filing jointly can receive up to $1200. Since you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child under 17.

Use the Kiplinger rebate tax calculator (link below) to compute your rebate.

Go to CNN.com and they have news stories about this rebate all the time (updates are pretty constant). Long story short on this is that you would not have seen it while filing your taxes; the rebate will be BASED on your 2007 taxes and since you said that you filed and had income (which I presume was from wages) you should qualify. I believe that they settled and signed on final numbers of $300 for single persons with addtional funds if you have children…there are also more figures if you're married etc. They need to wait for everyone to file their taxes - which you did and the rebate checks should be out in May or June sometime.

As long as you file a tax return you will get a rebate.

You file your taxes. The rebate check is calculated based on your 2007 taxes and the money is mailed to you separately in late May or June.

It won't show on the software, it's separate from your tax return and is not included in your refund, it will come separately.

If you file your 2007 return and have at least $3000 in qualifying income, you'll get it automatically.
