How IRS calculates part of the Stimulus payment that will be apply to a past due child support?
The total amount of our Stimulus Payment consists of the following: Basic Amount and Qualifying Child Amount (Based on 2 qualifying children). We live in AZ.

The Rebate is computed the following way:
With a filing status Married Filing Jointly the ESP maybe between $600 and $1,200 (they will match it to your tax after credits…) plus $300 per qualifying child.
With a filing status other than married filing jointly the ESP maybe between $300 and $600 (depending on your tax after credits) plus $300 per qualifying child.
After computing the ESP, the entire Economic Stimulus Payment will be offset to pay any pending debt with a federal agency (IRS, child support, student loan, state tax debt, etc.). If you used the filing status "married filing jointly" your current spouse may file form 8379 "Injured Spouse Allocation" and only half of the Economic Stimulus Rebate will be offset.
Hope this helps!

For the stimulus, it's 1/2 of the total.
Eg, mom, dad, 3 kids generally equals $1500 stimulus. 1/2 = $750.
