Stimulus payment when filed taxes right before April 15th?

I filed my taxes right before the deadline–anyone know how much this would delay the stimulus payment by (is it by 6 weeks)? I use direct deposit. SSN would have put me in the first wave of payments (ends in 02) but of course I didn't file early. I have looked it up on the IRS website but its not showing my return as processed yet.

it takes 6-8 weeks to process your federal return if mailed and if e-filed 7-10 days, your rebate will follow at about 2-3 weeks after your refund has been processed.

It doesnt matter how close to the deadline you were as long as you filed and they received your info by April 15th. So if you mailed it on the 15th, there will probably be a delay, not sure how long though. But if filed electronically then there should not be a delay? Have you received a letter from the IRS yet telling you what is going on?

If you filed by mail, it's very unlikely that yours was processed in time to make this first set of payments, so will very likely be after the first set is completed in July.

A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are. For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit. Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check.

If you efiled close to the deadline, it might have been processed in time to make the first set of payments, but maybe you are getting a paper check in which case you should have it soon.

In the first lot, only those who filed early (that is there return was process before April 15, 2008) are receiving the refund. You will not get refund in this lot.

If you did not provide your bank account information on your tax return, you will get by papaer check.
Go to http://www.irs.gov. Click Where is my Refund? Then click Status of my Stimulus Rebate.
