What is the amount of our family tax stimulus check if I am married and a stay at home mom?
I am married, my husband's income is approximately ,000 and we have one child, 2 1/2 years old. We file our taxes as married. Do we qualify for the couple tax stimulus check of 00 plus 0 for our child or only 0 plus 0 for our child because I am a stay at home mom?

If you filed jointly, you should get $1200 plus $300 per child.

It doesn't matter who earned the money on a joint return. Your tax liability is high enough to get you the full $1,200 base rebate. Since your child is under age 17 as of Dec 31, 2007 you'll get $300 for him or her for a total of $1,500.

You get $1200 plus $300 for your child. When you file jointly, it is considering that together you made approx $70,000. It does not matter that only one of you worked.
But if you had filed as "married filed separately", then your husband would get $600, you would get $300 (or $0 if you didn't have at least $3000 of income), and you would get $300 for your child.

$1200 plus the $300 for the child, if your net federal income tax liability for 2007 was at least $1200, and it probably was, at that income.
