Will we actually get any of the Economic Stimulus rebate if my husband owes back child support?
Each year, our federal and state income tax refunds are kept by our state government and applied to a small past due child support debt my husband owes. When the Economic Stimulus rebate checks are mailed later this year, will my husband and I receive that money, or will it also be applied to the old debt?

they'll take it
why dont you file an injured spouse form 8379
in most cases "you" being the injured spouse would sign this and send it along with your return… you still have time to send one in for this tax year and can amend the past few years with one as well. the IRS will then allocate what would go to you and you guys would get refunds.. usually ½
like i said its not to late, fill one out and mail it in…

It will be applied to the debt.

It should also be intercepted, but look at it as owing that much less. You can, like another person suggested, file as injured spouse and get your portion of refunds. That won't effect the rebate now though.
